"External Religious Worship that is pure and unblemished in the sight of God the Father is to visit and help and care for the orphans and widows in their afflictions and need, to keep oneself unspotted and contaminated from the world."
James 1:27
Redemption Children's Home is a non-governmental organization based in Damongo in the West Gonja District of the Northern Region of Ghana. It was founded and established by Abraham Lermu Saaka in 2004 and got registered with the Registry General Department of Ghana in June 2006.
Abraham is an evangelist and his inspiration is based on James 1:27. In 2004 Abraham was searching the streets for children who need seriously help. You can think about abandoned, destitute, abused or street children or victims of HIV/AIDS. Through the years his work achieved a growing appreciation by everyone concerned and now everybody knows where to find him when they need his help. In his opinion, the trust in God is the most important means to make a self-reliant future for the children.
Only too often Abraham finds his children more important than his own luxury. He has a great impact on the life of the children and therefore they all call him daddy. Abraham's sister Hawa has a great influence too, as she is the 'mother' of the children's home. Together with the aunties (employees) and the brothers/ sisters (volunteers) the Redemption Children's Home is one big family. The Redemption Children's Home is able to fulfill its mission thanks to the support of many outsiders. This means the Home depends on receiving financial as well as material goods.
